TEd talk

I loved Abraham Verghese's Ted Talk. I learned that working in medicine is not just a job, but it is helping people and getting to know them on a personal level. It is not just doing it for money or going through the motions, but he spends time with them because it is what truly helps him and is important to him. People have also said that art and medicine are two separate things, but are one together. I think that this is what Verghese's speech taught me and made me think about in a whole new way.

Blog post #3

My experiences with my group so far have been very good. I have learned a lot from working with this group. We have all learned together and I know the different tasks and jobs that should be distributed between each person, how to communicate with other people that have the same goal, and how to work together.

An event that stood out to me a lot since my last blog post was going to PSP3. This was an athletic trainer and gym. We got to go and talk to him about what it took to get to where he is now, the honest truth, and just about his job in general and his background. I learned a lot from this experience, because it was very real and I could tell that what he was saying was valid, like about classes he took, struggles and what he does now that is even more than just training athletes.

This semester of CAPS and the Sports Medicine class has done a lot for me. First off, I enjoy the class so much and look forward to going every day, I have met so many new friends from this class, and have had so many fun learning experiences. I have learned how to be professional, things to do and things not to do, and breaking habits that will not be allowed in the real world and big jobs. I have learned a great base amount about medicine that will carry me into college a little more prepared and ready.I can now work very well with other people and my communication skills have gotten very good. I hwould recommend this class to anyone because it is never boring, is very hands on, and has just been a great experience overall.
